About the Municipal Archive Dessau-Roßlau

The Municipal Archive Dessau-Roßlau is the central municipal department that is dealing with questions concerning the history of the city Dessau and Roßlau. As the memory of the city of Dessau-Roßlau, the archive accommodates important historical records of the city, some of which can be dated back to the 14^th century, and these records can be inspected and evaluated here.

We are safekeeping records that are the result of the collaboration of the city administration of Dessau-Roßlau as well as its subsidiary bodies and municipal undertakings: deeds, files, protocols, maps and plans, electronic data and media products. We are collecting all kinds of records regarding the history of the city Dessau-Roßlau such as photographs, picture postcards, newspapers, audio recordings, films, posters and various other documents as well as corporate or private records or documents of associations.
